The youngster even played for the Dutch side against Peru on Thursday and that could increase his value, as per the Mirror.
The report further claims that Tottenham are looking at the January window to to strengthen the side after failing to land a player in the summer.
Tottenham have done well with a few Ajax players over the years. Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen and Davinson Sanchez have all starred for us.
The Premier League club could do with some reinforcements in the midfield as Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele have had their share of injury problems over the past season.
De Jong is one of the brightest players from the Netherlands and it would not come as a surprise if other clubs are interested in him.
