Daily Star reports that Tottenham have failed to complete a deal regarding the naming rights of our new stadium.
The report adds that the stadium will be called “Tottenham Hotspur Stadium” and our home might end up costing us close to £1bn.
Mark Tucker, the chairman of HSBC, was involved in talks with the club but the report claims a figure could not be finalized with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.
This certainly comes as bad news as we are already behind schedule when it comes to the launch of the stadium.
Spurs were expected to play their upcoming clash against Liverpool in the new stadium but Daily Star claims that a more likely match will be the one against Chelsea on 24th November.
Further, reports suggest that we have struck a deal with the FA to continue playing at Wembley till 15th December, which will be the clash against Burnley.
Tottenham will play their Champions League group home games at Wembley this season and their Carabao Cup match against Watford will be played at Stadium MK.
Not getting a sponsor for the stadium will hurt us, given the quality of the facilities. However, the more pressing concern should be regarding the inauguration date of our home.

There have been a number of delays already and hopefully, we will be able to play in our home before the start of 2019.
