Tottenham will be without Kieran Trippier and Toby Alderweireld for the clash against Inter Milan.

Spurs take on the Italian giants in their opening Champions League game tonight and Mauricio Pochettino wasn’t going into details as to why they were left out.

The Argentine was speaking to the media on Monday and was quoted by ESPN saying:

“We still have out Hugo Lloris, Dele Alli and Moussa Sissoko. They are in London.

“Then a technical decision in London — Toby Alderweireld and Kieran Trippier.”

Lloris, Alli and Sissoko are all dealing with injuries but not playing Alderweireld and Trippier is a head-scratcher.

The pair started in our 2-1 loss against Watford and Pochettino added that this was not a punishment for their performances.

“We have ahead of a lot of games. We came from difficult circumstances with the World Cup. We have a plan to give different players a rest in all competitions.”

Playing at San Siro is never easy and our results from the previous two Premier League games leave a lot to be desired.

Tottenham performed brilliantly last season in the group stages and have to do the same this time as well.

A number of fans weren’t sure about what to make of Poch’s plans for the dropped pair and here are their reactions from Twitter.
