Former Tottenham manager Glenn Hoddle was irate at our defending in the 2-1 loss against Inter Milan.
The former manager was dissecting the performance for BT Sport and could not believe that Lucas Moura ran out of the box when Spurs had to defend a corner.
Hoddle did suggest that Moura did well when he came on but he let the team down. The Englishman wanted the players to take responsibility in situations where they were getting into the box.
Tottenham conceded a stoppage-time winner from Matias Vecino after we failed to defend the corner in question.
Hoddle was with Jermaine Jenas and Owen Hargreaves, as he claimed that a draw would have been a decent result, given the two losses prior to this one.
Hargreaves, in fact, suggested that we were the better team but we didn’t know how to manage the last minutes of the game.
Hoddle too believed the same and claimed this was a problem Liverpool faced last season. This season, however, the Reds have won all their six games and have held on to leads.
The trio certainly hit the right spots regarding how we threw the game away and Jenas even claimed this was one of Mauricio Pochettino’s lowest points in management.
