Tottenham won the Carabao Cup match against Watford on penalties but paid a price as Serge Aurier picked up an injury in the game.
The Ivorian had to leave the side with 10 men as Mauricio Pochettino had made all three substitutes before the injury.
Aurier had a decent game before his injury as he made an important block to deny a Watford goal. The former PSG man also put in a couple of brilliant crosses but Tottenham could not take advantage of his deliveries.
The boss was asked about the injury in his post-match presser and Pochettino wasn’t sure about the Ivorian’s return. The Argentine was asked if the right-back was alright and was quoted by Football.london as saying:
“I don’t believe so. In a cross he felt his quad. Tomorrow we’ll see, but it’s not a good thing.”
This would come as a big blow to the side, given that Kieran Trippier is our other senior right-back. We must rest the Englishman at times and cannot risk him in every game until the Ivorian is back.
Spurs do have Kyle Walker-Peters to take up the role in some of the games but the youngster isn’t at the same level.

Hopefully, the right-back hasn’t picked up a major injury and will return to the team soon.
