Dele Alli captained Tottenham to a 4-2 penalty shootout win over Watford in the Carabao Cup after the match ended 2-2 in normal time.
The Englishman was playing at the ground of his old club, MK Dons, and even scored from the spot when Watford were leading 1-0.
The 22-year-old joined Spurs from MK Dons in 2015 for a paltry sum of £5m (h/t BBC). The Englishman has only gotten better with time and shared an image of the victory from Stadium MK.
Amazing feeling leading @spursofficial out tonight and scoring in my hometown! On to the next round 🙌🏽 #COYS pic.twitter.com/LAhxxu2ZNI

Alli is one of the best players in the Premier League and has a lot of time to develop into one of the best in the world. The youngster hasn’t been in great form this season but the win over Watford could be the catalyst for the Englishman to achieve great things with Spurs.
Tottenham face Barcelona in the Champions League after a clash against Huddersfield on Saturday and a number of supporters congratulated Alli for his performance on Wednesday.
Well played tonight Dele, great to see you captain the side tonight and you showed how you led by example by stepping-up not only once but twice to get us over the line.
It’s no doubt that our dip in form has come because you was not in the team, fantastic to see you back now.
