Football.london reports that Tottenham’s new stadium will see the installation of the pitch this week. The report claims that the pitch will not be laid on Monday but preparations are in full swing around the area.
The ground already features an artificial NFL pitch and three retractable pitch trays will hold the football pitch are extended across the bowl waiting for the new pitch to arrive.
The report adds that the pitch has been prepared away from the stadium and will be installed over the coming days. The sprinklers for the pitch were also tested as per the report on Monday morning.
This is another significant step as we look to complete our home quickly. Football.london claims that this move will allow the club to prepare for the test events before the stadium can receive a number of safety certificates.
Mauricio Pochettino had recently stated that Tottenham could be playing at the new ground before 2019 with Christmas being pencilled in as a target.
Spurs were expected to play against Liverpool on 15th September but the stadium was nowhere near completion and we will be playing our Champions League group home games at Wembley.
This will come as great news for fans as we look to start a new era in our new stadium.
