AS Roma representatives met with Mousa Dembele’s team during Tottenham’s 2-1 loss against Inter Milan according to Calciomercato.
The Belgian has been a regular for Tottenham over the years but the report claims Inter Milan were linked with him in the summer but a move didn’t transpire between the clubs.
The report adds that Dembele will be a free agent come the end of the season and a number of Chinese clubs are interested in the 31-year-old.
The Belgian might not be able to start two games a week but he has been one of the most consistent performers for Spurs.
The 31-year-old was also a huge part of the Belgium side that finished third in the 2018 World Cup. Dembele has nine appearances for Tottenham this season with six starts to his name.
It will be interesting to see how things play out during the coming transfer window. Tottenham didn’t sign players in the summer and if we are going to sell Dembele in the winter window, we should bring in a replacement.
Should Dembele be kept till the summer, the might leave on a free, which would mean we lose out on a few million for sure.
The Belgian is a quality player and replacing him won’t be easy either, and Tottenham have a big decision to make regarding his future in the coming months.
