Harry Winks has had a tough time with injuries over the past year or so. The Englishman has shown glimpses of his brilliance on the pitch but his time at Tottenham has been cut short due to ankle problems.
The 22-year-old has been compared to Xavi and Andres Iniesta and even has the nickname of “Little Iniesta” as per Football.london.
The Englishman was speaking about this in the matchday programme (h/t Football.london) and was quoted as saying:
“Yes, to hear that is lovely for me. Obviously I feel honoured to even be associated with those two names but I think the manager touched on it as well, it’s still only potential at this stage.
“I’ve got to be the one to go out there and perform, to go out there and show it. It’s nice to have that kind of pressure on you, especially when you believe in yourself, that you can reach that sort of level.”
The Englishman added that he has a lot of hard work ahead of him and wasn’t ready to rest on his laurels either. Tottenham face Barcelona in their next Champions League clash and the midfielder might get to show his talents on Wednesday.

Winks will have a huge role to play for us this season as we didn’t strengthen the side in the summer window. The Englishman has just one start to his name this season with five substitute appearances but that should change in the coming months.
