Mauricio Pochettino has warned Tottenham supporters that the club might not sign players in the winter window if they don’t get the right ones.
Tottenham were the only team not to strengthen the side with fresh faces in the summer and the Sun quoted the Argentine manager as saying:
“Of course we are always trying to improve our squad because football is dynamic.
“Every six months you need to do something to refresh and to wake up. Or change the dynamic in the dressing room.
“But if you cannot achieve what you want, and you need to sign because you want to make people happy or act like all the clubs, I think that is not common sense.”
The Sun claims Spurs were linked with many players in the summer, including Jack Grealish of Aston Villa.
Pochettino further claimed it could be tough to sign players if the club is outpriced.
“You know the market and you know you are going to compete with certain clubs.
“When we talk we need to talk about reality. If you want to sign Player X and he is your target and you ask for him and it is £100m.
“Ah, well we have money but not enough to sign what we need or what we want. Then you need to move on.”

Even without new players, Tottenham have done well with the first eight games of the Premier League season. We are close to the top of the table and maybe with the right signings, we could finish the campaign with a trophy.
