Mauricio Pochettino has claimed Tottenham can forget winning the title if they cannot defeat PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League.

Spurs have lost their opening two games in the group, but have done better in the Premier League. Pochettino’s men are just two points off the top of the table, however, the manager was fully focused on the Dutch giants.

The Argentine was quoted by the Mirror as saying:

“If we are not capable of winning this type of game we cannot win the title.

“We need more. I think we are so competitive over the last four and a half years, but to win a title is the last step, to push the team and the club.

“I think it’s so important the Champions League game against Eindhoven because if we want to be alive in the competition. It’s a must-win game and we know very well we need to repeat that type of performance.”

Tottenham come into the game with great form on their side. We beat West Ham United, without playing great football, and should be favourites against the Dutch team.

Spurs were handed a tough Champions League draw with Barcelona and Inter Milan in the group. We would probably need to win all our games to make it into the next stage of the competition, and the pressure is surely on the team to get the right results.
