Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris didn’t apologise after his red card against PSV, according to Mauricio Pochettino.

The Spurs captain was sent off in the 79th minute for a mistimed challenge outside the box. Tottenham could not hold onto a 2-1 lead against the Dutch team and got only a point after Luuk de Jong’s late goal.

Pochettino was asked if the Frenchman had apologised to his teammates but the manager said Lloris didn’t have to.

The Argentine was quoted by the Metro as saying:

“No, why?

“He doesn’t need to apologise. Football is about making mistakes.

“It was an action in football that happens often and of course sometimes that happens.”

The draw was a bitter pill to swallow given how we dominated the game. Tottenham took the lead thanks to Harry Kane after Lozano had opened the scoring in the game.

Lucas Moura equalised to make it 1-1 before the Englishman scored. The point isn’t of much help as we needed three to put the pressure on Barcelona and Inter Milan.

Spurs are now five points behind second-placed Inter but our next Champions League clash is a home game against PSV.

Lloris has saved our skin numerous times but this was a poor error to make, especially when we were leading.

It will take a bit of a miracle for Spurs to make it into the knockout round, and we cannot afford to make any mistakes once we return to Champions League action.
