Lucas Moura claims Tottenham have the quality to qualify from their Champions League group.
Tottenham lost their opening two games in the group but were leading 2-1 against PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands.
However, Hugo Lloris was sent off in the second half and the hosts took advantage by scoring late on. A point doesn’t help us but Moura was confident of the team doing well against Barcelona, Inter Milan and PSV.
The Brazilian was speaking to Sky Sports (h/t Football.london):
“We need to believe. I think we can qualify, and we believe.
“We have three games left. We have the quality to qualify. We have to keep working, so let’s look forward to the next game.
“I’m a little bit sad because I scored, and we played well. We had control of the game and we could have finished it and score the third, but we didn’t – that’s football.”
Spurs have another tough game in this round of fixtures as they face one of the league leaders, Manchester City.
A win over Pep Guardiola’s side will see us leapfrog the Cityzens and reignite our Premier League campaign.
However, making it into the next round of the Champions League is important. Apart from the prize money, our UEFA coefficient could take a hit and we could get a tougher group next time.
