Tottenham face a real test of their title credentials on Monday as they play Manchester City. Spurs are coming off a disappointing 2-2 draw against PSV in the Champions League, which has made qualification into the next round extremely tough.
Hugo Lloris was sent off in the game, however, the Spurs captain should face the Cityzens. Tottenham know a win over City will take them above Pep Guardiola’s side, and here is our predicted line-up for the clash at Wembley.
Predicted Tottenham XI
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Manager: Mauricio Pochettino
Hugo Lloris (GK)
Lloris didn’t cover himself in glory against PSV and will have to be at his best against a rampant City team.
Kieran Trippier (RB)
Leroy Sane vs Trippier will be a battle to keep an eye on. The Spurs right-back is great going forward but will have to do a lot of work at the back too.
Davinson Sanchez (CB)
The Colombian has gotten better with each game this season but this would be a real test against the might of City.
Toby Alderweireld (CB)
With Jan Vertonghen recovering from an injury, Toby has had to step up and keep things calm at the back for Spurs.
Ben Davies (LB)
Davies could be up against the pace of Raheem Sterling, and the Welshman has to be careful of City’s speedster on Monday.
Eric Dier (CM)
The English midfielder hasn’t been consistent with his performances for Spurs but needs to have a great game on Monday.
Harry Winks (CM)
Winks could be the X-Factor in the game with his composure on the ball and dribbling ability as we look to unlock the City defence.
Erik Lamela (LAM)
Lamela has been great this season and needs to have a great game for Tottenham to score a goal or two.
Christian Eriksen (CAM)
The Dane has recently returned from a long injury lay-off but should be ready to start against the Cityzens.
Son Heung-min (RAM)
Son hasn’t been great for Tottenham this season, but he is always up for the big games and we could see a masterclass from the South Korean on Monday.

Harry Kane (ST)
The England striker won’t have it easy against the likes of Josh Stones or Vincent Kompany, but Kane has to produce the goods in this important tie.
