Son Heung-min scored a brace as Tottenham beat West Ham at the London Stadium in their Carabao Cup fixture.
The South Korean was joined by Fernando Llorente in the scoring sheet as Mauricio Pochettino made a number of changes to the starting XI.
Lucas Perez got a goal for the home side after the brace from Son. However, Llorente’s effort meant we take on another London team, Arsenal, in the next round of the competition.
Our next game is against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, and here are the player ratings from this game.
Paulo Gazzaniga – 7.5/10
A decent performance from the Argentine as he made some quality saves between the sticks.
Serge Aurier – 6/10
The right-back didn’t have a great game as he was taken to task by the West Ham attack.
Davinson Sanchez – 7.5/10
Sanchez was decent against the likes of Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic, but he was taken to the cleaners a few times by Grady Diangana.
Juan Foyth – 8.5/10
A brilliant display from the youngster as he produced a number of quality tackles and clearances to keep us in the lead.
Kyle Walker-Peters – 7/10
This was another youngster who did extremely well for us, especially against the crafty Michail Antonio.
Harry Winks – 7.5/10
It is great seeing the Englishman injury-free and his performances are telling. Winks was great in the middle of the park as he kept the Tottenham side ticking.
Victor Wanyama – 6.5/10
The Kenyan had a relatively easy game in midfield for Spurs and hopefully, will play a huge role for us in the remainder of the campaign..
Dele Alli – 7/10
Alli looked to be in decent touch without ever putting in 100%. He did have the ball in the net but that effort was ruled for offside.
Son Heung-min – 9/10
We finally got to see the best of the South Korean after a below-par season, so far. Son was clinical for both goals and should carry this form into the rest of the season.
Christian Eriksen – 7/10
The Dane got into some good positions and passed the ball around well. Eriksen didn’t do much wrong in the game, but didn’t threaten the West Ham defence much.
Fernando Llorente – 7/10
Harry Kane getting a rest was the most important aspect of Llorente playing. Thankfully, the Spaniard got a goal in the second half to make the game safe for us.
Substitutes
Georges-Kevin Nkoudou – 6/10
The forgotten man made an appearance, though he didn’t do much.
Moussa Sissoko – 5/10
The French midfielder came on to see the game out.
Oliver Skipp – NA
The youngster came on late in the game and didn’t have a lot of time to perform.
