Erik Lamela isn’t thinking about a return to former club River Plate and wants to enjoy his time at Tottenham.
The Argentine is having a fantastic season at the club after an injury-plagued couple of years. Lamela joined Roma from River Plate, before making a move to Tottenham in 2013.
The attacker was quoted by the Evening Standard when asked if he was contemplating ending his career at the Argentine giants.
“I don’t know, in this moment I am thinking only Tottenham.
“Tottenham is the club that is giving me everything. Of course I love River but, it is not time to think about coming back.”
The former River star also spoke about the Copa Libertadores final that his former club plays against bitter rivals Boca Juniors.
The first leg ended in a 2-2 draw but Lamela was certain River would win the crown.
“I think River are playing very good at the moment, without me. I am confident that they can win [against Boca], I hope they can show in another final that they have experience and I believe in the team.”
The 26-year-old has four goals and an assist from eight Premier League games and has only gotten better with each match this season.
Lamela has potential to get even better and hopefully, there will be something for him to celebrate at the club soon.
