Former Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas criticised the chairman Daniel Levy and the Spurs board in a recent interview.
The Portuguese was Tottenham manager for just over a season and was fired from the job in December 2013.
Villas-Boas told Corriere dello Sport (h/t Sun):
“In April, we started planning for the next season. I offered some names to buy and sell, but during the transfer window, the board didn’t listen and quickly destroyed everything we’d created.
“I got an offer from Paris Saint-Germain, who wanted me, but I said no out of love for Tottenham. Maybe that was a mistake.”
The former Chelsea manager added that the club had a great time in the previous season with Gareth Bale doing exceptionally well alongside Emmanuel Adebayor, Aaron Lennon and Kyle Walker.
The Portuguese went on to manage Zenit Saint Petersburg after the Tottenham role and was in charge of Shanghai SIPG till November 2017.
Villas-Boas was one of the brightest managers when he took up the Tottenham job, but the second season didn’t work out great for the Portuguese.
Right now, we have one of the best in the world and Mauricio Pochettino seems to have a decent relationship with Daniel Levy.
