Tottenham star Christian Eriksen will start the UEFA Nations League game against the Republic of Ireland despite concerns regarding his fitness, according to the Daily Mail.

The Dane played the entire 90 in the 2-1 win over Wales which confirmed Denmark as the group winners and relegated the Irish side.

The report claims that Eriksen was expected to be rested for this tie on Monday, however, the Danish coach Age Hareide was quoted by the Daily Mail saying:

“Christian will play from the start tomorrow.

“The intention is that he’s going to play. In this case, we have to sort of nurse him as much as possible. That means he probably won’t be staying on for 90 minutes.”

The 26-year-old’s season has been hampered with a stomach problem and he only has one goal to his name for Tottenham this season.

Eriksen missed close to a month of Tottenham’s season with the problem and only recently regained his fitness for the side.

The Dane has been slowly reintegrated into the team, but this is a major risk by the Denmark manager given that the clash isn’t important for either side.

Tottenham play Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal within eight days, and we would need all our players to be fit and firing.

Eriksen certainly is a game changer for Spurs, and hopefully, he will return from the international break without any complications.
