Tottenham star Dele Alli wants the team to play at the same level as in the 3-1 win over Chelsea at the weekend.
Spurs blew away their London rivals in the opening half and raced to a 2-0 lead. Tottenham could have scored more than the two in the opening 45 and now prepare for a couple of tough fixtures.
We play Inter Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday and face Arsenal in another London derby after that.
Alli scored the opener in our win and said (h/t Mirror):
“We have to keep that as our level.
“We can’t drop off — and we have to improve as well. We’ve got a busy month and some really tough fixtures, and it gives us confidence going into those games that we can beat anyone.”
The Englishman added that Chelsea were a top side but wanted Tottenham to continue playing in the same manner and not rest after this victory.
“We just need to keep this form up and improve, not drop off or take our foot off the pedal just because we got a good win against Chelsea.
“We just have to go into the next games. We know how important they are. Just focus on the next game, take the positives from this game — and there are still things we need to improve on.”
Should Tottenham play in the same manner as they did against the Blues for the rest of the season, we will certainly have more than a chance of defeating some of our rivals easily.
We must defeat Inter to keep our Champions League hopes alive, and this win should give us the confidence we need.
