Tottenham could lodge a £40million bid for Napoli midfielder Allan, according to CalcioNapoli24 (h/t Mirror).
The 27-year-old has been one of the more consistent players for Napoli in recent seasons and the report adds that Tottenham’s Joe Lewis is pushing for a deal.
Napoli are enjoying a decent start to the season and are second in the Serie A standings, eight points behind Juventus.
The report adds that Napoli do not want to lose their star in the January window. This is the midfielder’s fourth season at the Naples club and he has scored nine goals since joining them.
The 27-year-old has a couple of assists to his name this season and plays as a deep-lying midfielder. Tottenham have a few issues in that area of the pitch with Mousa Dembele recovering from an injury and Moussa Sissoko nearing 30.
Spurs have Harry Winks, Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama as other options in the middle of the park but we could do with Allan’s experience and skills.
Tottenham didn’t sign any players in the summer but we have to invest in the winter to secure a decent finish in the ongoing campaign.

We have been hit with several injury problems this season, and hopefully, our stars will stay fit for the rest of the season.
