Tottenham rose to the occasion and beat a tough Inter Milan side 1-0 at Wembley on Wednesday. The team knew anything less than three points against the Italians would mean elimination from the Champions League, but Christian Eriksen’s late goal was enough to settle the tie.
The win keeps us alive in the competition and we know a win over already qualified Barcelona will take us into the knockout stages of the competition.
Tottenham had a few chances to score but couldn’t get the better of Samir Handanovic. Harry Kane had a bit of a quiet game last night, but the Englishman certainly was happy with the result.
Ground out a massive win. One more big @ChampionsLeague performance needed to get through the group 👍 #COYS #THFC #UCL pic.twitter.com/fBsalLYWkJ

The man who had a huge role in the goal was Moussa Sissoko. The Frenchman’s run led to the goal for Eriksen, and Sissoko thanked the fans for the support.
Very important victory tonight for the qualification to the next round ! 👊🏿

Christian Eriksen had a short and simple message ahead of the Barcelona clash while Dele Alli hailed the fighting spirit of this Tottenham side.

We had Jan Vertonghen returning to the starting XI after being out with a hamstring problem and he did a great job at the back with Toby Alderweireld keeping Inter from scoring.
Great to be back out there. Top win 🙌🏼 #COYS pic.twitter.com/KbvWWVZlJu

Tottenham don’t have a lot of time to celebrate this result as we face Arsenal at the weekend. However, this win should give us an additional boost going into the North London derby.
