Tottenham were dealt a mini-footballing lesson in the North London derby as we were defeated 4-2. Things just didn’t go well from us right from the start and the match ended with Jan Vertonghen getting sent off.
The Belgian will miss our next trip against Mauricio Pochettino’s old team, Southampton. The Saints come off a pretty good point against Manchester United but sacked their manager Mark Hughes after the result.
Tottenham need to bounce back from their loss to the Gunners, and here is our predicted starting line-up for Spurs.
Predicted Tottenham XI
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Manager: Mauricio Pochettino
Hugo Lloris (GK)
Lloris should start for us and hopefully, he keeps Southampton from scoring past him.
Kieran Trippier (RB)
Trippier is back from an injury, and could make a start in place of Serge Aurier.
Toby Alderweireld (CB)
Alderweireld was rested in the game against Arsenal, which did not work out for us. The Belgian should return to the side on Wednesday.
Juan Foyth (CB)
The Argentine didn’t have a great game against the Gunners but Vertonghen is suspended and Davinson Sanchez is injured, so Foyth should start.
Danny Rose (LB)
Rose got a few minutes against Arsenal and should replace Ben Davies in the starting XI.
Harry Winks (CM)
Moussa Sissoko deserves a bit of a break after a tough stretch of games and we could see Winks start ahead of the Frenchman.
Eric Dier (CM)
The Englishman scored our first goal at the Emirates but he has to do a better job of keeping the opposition midfield in check.
Lucas Moura (RAM)
Moura was another player that got a few minutes off the bench against the Gunners and should start against Southampton.
Christian Eriksen (CAM)
The Dane wasn’t great in the diamond in midfield against Arsenal, and we could see him start behind Harry Kane.
Son Heung-min (LAM)
Son didn’t have a great game either for us and needs to do more against the Saints.

Harry Kane (ST)
Kane did score in the loss to Spurs but the Tottenham man has to have a better game than he did at the weekend.
