Tottenham will find it difficult to land Miguel Almiron as the player’s father suggested that Newcastle are favourites to land the Paraguayan midfielder (h/t Mirror).
The 25-year-old had a great season with Atlanta United scored 13 times and providing 11 assists from 37 games.
The versatile midfielder can play in a number of positions and the player could cost £20m (h/t Mirror). The report claims that West Ham and Spurs were interested in the 25-year-old but it is Newcastle that have done most of the running and will offer the midfielder first-team football.
Almiron was one of the brightest sparks in the MLS last season, and it will be interesting to see who lands him finally.
Almiron would have provided some respite to the likes of Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-min with his versatility.
In fact, Tottenham are in dire need of some fresh faces in the side and we need to invest in the team once the winter window opens.
Mauricio Pochettino has stretched the side to the maximum in the first six months of this campaign without any signings in the summer. However, a similar story cannot unfold in January.
