Tottenham were the only Premier League club not to sign a player in the previous summer window, and Mauricio Pochettino has hinted that there won’t be much activity in January too.
Spurs are third in the Premier League after 16 games and could do with some freshening up, but Pochettino claimed he would not be disappointed if no signings are made.
The Argentine was speaking ahead of our game against Burnley and claimed that a player has to fit into the team if they are to join (h/t Sky Sports):
“No, not disappointed. I know very well that January is always difficult.
“In the same way, if you find some player, look what happened to different players that arrive in January last season.
“It takes time to understand and to perform, to fit with the team. Sometimes it’s better not to sign if you don’t find the right player.”
The Argentine was more open about players possibly leaving the side in January as he claimed that sometimes the lack of regular minutes leads to them leaving.
The manager further claimed that some players cannot deal with the disappointment of not playing “too much”, and the best decision could be to loan or sell them.

Tottenham have been stretched a lot this season due to injuries, and we need to add quality to our side. Spurs have a chance of doing something special in the Premier League and we are part of the Champions League knockout rounds too, and a few quality signings could make a huge difference.
