Pochettino handed a Premier League debut to one of our best young talents in Oliver Skipp. The 18-year-old was impressive in our pre-season and his debut was well worth it.
The English midfielder looked comfortable in the heart of the pitch and was later substituted as we searched for a goal.
Skipp spoke about the debut, and how it felt great to play for the first-team.
️ “When I saw my name on the teamsheet, I was just delighted!”

Mauricio Pochettino is known for developing talents, with the likes of Harry Kane, Harry Winks and Dele Alli flourishing under the Argentine.
Skipp seems to have all the tools to become a quality midfielder, but the work isn’t complete yet. There is a long way to go before we can consider him as a regular first-teamer.
Several Tottenham fans were pleased with the youngster’s performance, and here are some reactions to the 18-year-old’s debut.
Five of Tottenham Hotspur’s 18-man squad today came through the Spurs Academy.
Fantastic that Poch has such confidence in the youngsters. #COYS— My Football Facts (@myfootballfacts) December 15, 2018

Pochettino trust in players is beyond measure. A young player usually knows a day or so to prepare his mind of starting a #EPL game. An hour and half. Man you will be nervous. It shows how important everyone is to the team. You have to prepare always. #THFC #COYS
