Arsenal manager Unai Emery has claimed Mauricio Pochettino is happy at Tottenham, despite reports (h/t ESPN) that Manchester United want him next season.

United sacked Jose Mourinho and will appoint an interim till the end of the season and will make a decision on who leads them in the summer.

Emery and Pochettino struck up a friendship during their time in Spain, and the Arsenal manager added that Spurs are in a better position than the Red Devils (h/t ESPN):

“I think he’s very happy at Tottenham. I think he’s coaching a very big team with very big players and now they are in the Champions League. They are also in a better position in the Premier League than Manchester United.”

The Arsenal manager also believed Pochettino had a big commitment to the team, and Spurs have improved a lot during his tenure.

“I think his performance at Tottenham is very big. I don’t know if he’s thinking about changing [to] another club, but I am looking at him with a very big commitment to Tottenham, and he’s creating a good performance … Tottenham improved a lot with him.”

Pochettino has turned us from underachievers to one of the best sides in the Premier League. The manager couldn’t sign a player in the summer window but that hasn’t impacted our results as much as it could have.

We are six points behind table-toppers Liverpool in the Premier League and qualified for the knockout rounds of the Champions League too.

Emery is right in saying Spurs are in a better position than United are, and it would really set us back if our manager decided to leave after signing a new deal earlier in the year.
