Tottenham have been provided a boost as Juan Foyth is to be part of the squad for our Carabao Cup clash against Arsenal.

The defender missed the last three games due to a thigh injury but is training with the team. Our other South American centre-back, Davinson Sanchez, has also returned to training, a club release confirmed.

Mauricio Pochettino spoke before the North London derby and was happy that we have more options for our defence:

“Juan Foyth is going to be in the squad. Davinson is so close. That is good news. We have a very busy fixture schedule ahead and the most important thing is the spirit and how we will approach the games.”

Spurs still have some injury concerns regarding some first-teamers. Serge Aurier, Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama are still going through the paces, and there is no return date for the trio as yet.

Jan Vertonghen is expected to return to training in January while Eric Dier is recovering after his surgery.

There will be another change in the Spurs team taking on the Gunners, as the boss confirmed Paulo Gazzaniga would replace Hugo Lloris.

The Argentine has impressed in both our Carabao Cup ties against Watford and West Ham, and this will be another chance for the 26-year-old to prove his ability.

Tottenham lost the first derby of the season 4-2 at the Emirates, and knocking them out of the cup in their backyard would be the perfect response.
