Tottenham have held talks with the agent of Mats Hummels over a possible move in January, according to Bild (h/t Mirror).
The report adds that the German has fallen out of favour under new manager Niko Kovac and is seeking a move away from Bayern Munich.
Hummels’ agent Marc Kosicke travelled to London to speak with Tottenham and Chelsea with a view of sealing a deal to the Premier League (h/t Mirror).
The 30-year-old only has eight Bundesliga starts to his name this season but started in the recent wins over Hannover and RB Leipzig.
The German has a couple of years left on his deal, and the report adds that any club wanting to sign him would have to stump up a huge amount.
It will be interesting to see if the deal does come through as the Bayern president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge claimed (h/t Mirror) that the defender would get more playing time in the second half of the season.
Tottenham have had their problems with injuries this season and we have Jan Vertonghen out for a while with an issue.
Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth have also had their problems this season, and Hummels has a lot of experience that could be useful for us.

The 30-year-old might not come on the cheap, but he would certainly be a valuable addition to the Premier League and Tottenham.
