Christian Eriksen’s contract is up at the end of next season and Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that a decision could take place in the coming days or at the end of the season.
The Dane was excellent in our 6-2 win over Everton and scored a sumptuous volley. Sky Sports claims that Eriksen has been linked with some of the biggest teams in Europe and Pochettino spoke about the dynamic nature of the game (h/t Sky Sports):
“Football is so dynamic. It changes every day, every season. It depends not only on your decision, but it is always a player’s decision.
The Argentine wanted the club to enjoy the “moment” and claimed that Tottenham want Eriksen at the club.
“Of course, it is a person that the club wants for the future, but now we need to be focused – a player like him is focused and tries to deliver a great performance in the way that we need.
“A decision is going to happen at the end of the season or [maybe] a decision will happen in the next few days, in January.
The manager further claimed that he wants the best decision for Tottenham.
“I hope we are going to take the best decision for the club and hope the player can take the best decision for them and for the club – it is about negotiation and many things that happen.”
Eriksen certainly should not be up for grabs as he is one of the best in the Premier League. The manager has built something viable at Tottenham but to ensure the team’s competitiveness, we have to keep hold of our best players.
We should give whatever Eriksen wants in order to keep him at the club as he has the potential to become one of the best in the world.
