Tottenham were the only club not to make a signing in the summer, and Mauricio Pochettino has claimed it would be difficult to sign someone because we have a huge squad.
Spurs have been incredible in recent weeks with the thrashing of Everton still fresh in our minds, but Pochettino believes there is no space for new players (h/t Express):
“We have a full squad. I think we have 28 in the squad. I think it’s impossible to sign players if we have no space. We don’t have enough spaces at the moment, so it makes no sense to talk about signing players.”
The Argentine is right with one suggestion that there are too many players on our books with some of them not doing well.
Vincent Janssen, Fernando Llorente and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou are three that need to be shipped out as they have struggled to perform at the club.
Spurs also have had several injury concerns this season and we never seem to have enough players fit. We could do with someone who would increase the quality of the side or provide cover for Harry Kane and our attackers.
Pochettino has worked wonders at Tottenham this season and it will be interesting to see how we perform for the remainder of the campaign without dipping into the market.
