Mousa Dembele has emerged as a target for Ligue 1 club Monaco, according to Le10 Sport (h/t Sun). The Tottenham midfielder is currently recuperating from an ankle injury.
Dembele last played for Tottenham in the 3-2 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers and has only made seven Premier League starts this season.
The report claims that Monaco manager Thierry Henry wants the Belgian at the struggling Ligue 1 side, and the club will offer him a massive final payday.
The 31-year-old is a free agent come the end of the season and can negotiate with foreign clubs in January. Dembele has had his injury problems over the years at Tottenham and that has led to minutes for several youngsters.
Harry Winks has been a revelation this season with Moussa Sissoko also starring in the midfield. With Eric Dier out on the sidelines, Oliver Skipp has been handed a few games and the youngster has looked good for the Lilywhites.
Tottenham need to keep players for the second half of the season as we have suffered several injuries recently. Dembele might be recuperating at the moment but we could use him in some of the cup games later on.
Hopefully, we don’t lose other stars to long-term problems as we push for the Premier League title. We are just six points behind Liverpool and could close the gap when they face Manchester City on January 3.
