Tottenham’s decision to activate a one-year extension in Toby Alderweireld’s contract has ignited interest from Paris Saint-Germain, according to the Telegraph.
The move sees the Belgian remain at the club for another season, however, the defender could leave for a fee of £25million in the summer, as per the report.
Alderweireld has been excellent for Tottenham this season and is the one defender that has been part of our starting XI throughout the campaign.
The other central defenders in the team, Jan Vertonghen, Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez, have all picked up niggles in the campaign but we are close to having the quartet fit.
The report claims that any deal for the Belgian could take place in the latter stages of the transfer window, and PSG have a good relationship with Tottenham.
Serge Aurier and Lucas Moura moved to London from the French capital in recent seasons, and PSG could allow another player to make the swap in hopes of sealing the deal as per the report.
Thomas Meunier is one player that the Ligue 1 giants could offer but that could mean Tottenham letting go of one of their senior right-backs, Kieran Trippier or Aurier (h/t Telegraph).

Ideally, we should ensure Alderweireld signs a new deal and remains a Tottenham star for years to come. The Belgian is one of the best in the country, and he should be given a contract that matches that of the other top stars at Spurs.
