AS (h/t Sun) report that Real Madrid are confident of luring Christian Eriksen away from Tottenham in the summer. The report adds that Spurs have been unable to finalise a new deal for the Dane and the star is out of contract in 2020.
Real see the 26-year-old as a replacement for Isco, who has found it hard to play regularly under new manager Santiago Solari.
The Spaniard is expected to leave at the end of the campaign as per the report, and Eriksen is seen as the perfect signing by the La Liga giants.
There could be further implications of this deal going through, with Chelsea star Eden Hazard remaining at Stamford Bridge if Eriksen joins Madrid (h/t Sun).
Mauricio Pochettino recently spoke about the contract situation of the Dane and wanted to keep hold of the star. However, the Argentine also claimed that Eriksen had the right to decide on his future and hopefully, that sees him remain at Tottenham for several years.
The 26-year-old missed several games at the start of the campaign but is in great form at the moment. Eriksen has four goals and an assist in his last five Premier League games, and we sit just six points behind leaders Liverpool.
The Dane is one of the best in the world and has only gotten better during his time at Tottenham. It would be a huge blow to lose a player in his prime and replacing someone like the Dane would not be easy.
