Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge claims that Mousa Dembele could be on his way to China. The Belgian is out of contract at Tottenham at the end of the season and Beijing Sinobo Guoan seem likely to sign the 31-year-old.
Bridge was speaking to the Transfer Talk podcast and claimed that the Chinese side have made an approach for the midfielder (h/t Express):
“Beijing Sinobo Guoan have made an approach, we understand, to sign Mousa Dembele. I wouldn’t be surprised if this does get over the line.”
The Sky Sports reporter added that Dembele could have left last summer but a deal could not be finalised for the Belgian.
The 31-year-old picked up an ankle injury in our win over Wolverhampton Wanderers and recently returned to training. Bridge claimed that Dembele could be on his way if Tottenham were to receive a fee.
The former Fulham man is a quality player to have when fit, but his injury record hasn’t been great in recent seasons. Tottenham are a little light when it comes to fit midfielders but Moussa Sissoko has been incredible for us this season.
Harry Winks is the other starlet who has done well, and Mauricio Pochettino has provided Oliver Skipp with some first-team minutes in recent games.
Eric Dier too is out for a while after having an appendix operation but we seem to be doing fine, having qualified for the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup and having hammered Tranmere 7-0 recently in the FA Cup.
