Tottenham are amongst several clubs interested in Mexican international Hector Herrera, according to the Mirror.
Portuguese outlet Record (h/t Mirror) claims that the 28-year-old is close to joining Inter Milan. However, Arsenal are also interested in the midfielder.
Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Crystal Palace and Roma are the others chasing the FC Porto star. The Mexican is available on a free transfer in the summer and there could be a real battle to get his signature.
This could be a great signing for Spurs, given that we don’t seem to be spending a lot of money in the transfer window.
Mauricio Pochettino could not sign any players in the summer and it would be difficult to get the right players in the winter window too. Spurs need some quality midfielders as the likes of Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama regularly get injured.
The Lilywhites have done decently without the pair, playing most of the games with Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks.
We have also seen Oliver Skipp start some games and the youngster should play more games this season. It will be interesting to see which club Herrera ultimately signs for, given there are many interested parties.

Hopefully, Tottenham will make some moves in the summer as it will be difficult to compete with our Premier League rivals.
