Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino highlighted how difficult it is to negotiate with Daniel Levy but claimed he doesn’t have problems dealing with the Spurs chairman.

Pochettino has formed a great relationship with the players at the club, and he added that he also has a great relationship with Levy.

The Spurs chairman is a tough person to crack, and Premier League clubs find it difficult to deal with Levy, according to the Argentine. Speaking to the Evening Standard, the manager also joked that some of the previous Tottenham managers fought with Levy:

“For me, if there was one person that was easy to do business with, it was Daniel. Personally. Historically, other [Tottenham] managers were the opponent of Daniel, they always fought with him!

“I think it’s only me maybe that has a good relationship with him. But that’s a joke – don’t make it tomorrow’s headlines!”

Pochettino also spoke about the difficulty faced by Levy regarding contract extensions and transfer funds. The Argentine added that he negotiates harder for his staff because they depend on the manager

It is great for us that Pochettino seems to have the upper hand when communicating with Levy, but the manager needs more funds. We did not sign any fresh faces in the summer, and that cannot go on for long as the other clubs will strengthen themselves.

Pochettino deserves loads of credit for making Spurs a quality team and this season’s performances have been incredible. Even without any new signings, we are in with a shout for trophies.
