Harry Kane fears he could be out for a month after his injury against Manchester United, according to the Guardian.
The report adds that Tottenham have to wait for the swelling to reduce before they can scan the joint, but the striker had to limp off after a last-second tackle by Phil Jones on Sunday.
The Englishman will be a huge miss for the side, and the report claims that Spurs are reluctant to put a timescale on his return.
Tottenham have some huge games in the next four weeks with a Champions League tie against Borussia Dortmund, the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Chelsea and the FA Cup fourth round game against Crystal Palace.
The Englishman will also miss four Premier League games with a derby against Fulham at the weekend.
Kane has had his injury problems in recent years, and the current absence from the side will hurt even more given that Son Heung-min has left for the Asian Cup to represent South Korea.
That would leave us with Fernando Llorente as the person to lead the line, but we could see Lucas Moura or even Erik Lamela replace Kane at the tip of the attack.
Hopefully, the injury is not as severe as the report suggests and we see the England captain back in action soon.
Our title hopes took a major blow after the United defeat, but we need to ensure the team keeps playing well till the end of the campaign.
