Tottenham are set to revive their interest in Brazilian attacker Malcom, according to the Daily Star.
The report claims that Malcom was a target for Spurs in the summer, but his move from Bordeaux to Barcelona has not worked out.
Tottenham face a crisis in attack with Harry Kane picking up what looks like a serious injury against Manchester United and Son Heung-min leaving for the Asian Cup.
This leaves just Fernando Llorente as the recognised senior striker and he has been taken off the market despite being linked with a move to Athletic Bilbao (h/t Daily Star).
Malcom seems surplus to requirements at the Catalan giants and was offered to Chelsea as part of a swap deal for Willian, according to the report.
The 21-year-old can play across the front-line and it will be interesting to see if Spurs quickly move for a forward in the next two weeks.
We were the only team not to sign any players in the summer, but it would be a major gamble not to make any new additions given our current state.
The report adds that Kane could be out for a few weeks and simply relying on Llorente or the likes of Lucas Moura and Erik Lamela to lead the line is a major risk.
Mauricio Pochettino has done wonders with a limited budget at Spurs, but it will be tough challenging for the top-four spot without a quality forward leading the line in Kane’s absence.
