Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara has urged the club to find a replacement for Harry Kane. The English striker was ruled out till March after injuring his ankle in Tottenham’s loss to Manchester United.

Son Heung-min is away on international duty, and we only have Fernando Llorente as the recognised senior striker in the side, though Vincent Janssen is still on the books.

Tottenham did not dip into the transfer window in the summer, and O’Hara believed it would be difficult to replace Kane and Son in the side while speaking to Sky Sports.

The former youth academy product wanted Spurs to splash the cash or even sign someone on loan as the race for the top four intensifiers (h/t Sky Sports):

“Without Harry Kane leading the line, I really feel like they need to go and sign someone. Whether it’s a loan or whether they sign someone for £30-40 million.

“They’ve got to look at it and think ‘have we done enough to stay in the top four if we lose Harry Kane for 7-8 weeks and have we got the players to carry the team without him?'”

Spurs lie nine points behind leaders Liverpool but more worryingly, we sit just one point ahead of Chelsea. Manchester United and Arsenal are seven points behind us in the race for the Champions League, and it is imperative we make some moves in the winter window.

Losing Kane for a month was acceptable but a couple of months out will throw a huge spanner in the works for Mauricio Pochettino.

The English striker is possibly the best in the world, and Spurs have a huge problem regarding their striker force in the coming months.
