Tottenham confirmed that Harry Kane is set to be out for a couple of months after his ankle injury against Manchester United.
The Englishman picked up the injury in the final seconds of our loss to the Red Devils and is set to miss some big games.
However, the Evening Standard (h/t Metro) claims the England captain is targetting a return date of 24 February, which is the final of the Carabao Cup.
Tottenham hold a slender lead over Chelsea in the semi-finals of the competition and play the second leg in a week’s time or so.
The report adds that the other date Kane is looking forward to is 27 February when Spurs play Chelsea in the Premier League.
Tottenham play some huge games at the end of February and start of March. Arsenal will travel to Wembley for a North London derby on 2 March, and then we have the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 clash against Borussia Dortmund on 5 March.
The Englishman is possibly the best striker in the world and his loss will be felt immensely by the team. Tottenham won’t rush their star back from injury (h/t Metro) and it will be important to keep a track on his rehabilitation in the coming weeks.
The lack of forward options will hurt us in the coming weeks unless Son Heung-min’s South Korea get eliminated from the Asian Cup soon.
