Tottenham have approached former Fiorentina and Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi over a move, according to Tuttosport (h/t Mirror).
The 31-year-old striker is currently training at United and is searching for a new club, as per the report. Rossi last played for Genoa in the previous season but has been out of action for a while.
The former Villarreal man was one of the most lethal strikers during his prime and even part of the Italy national side.
The problem with Rossi has been his record of long-term injuries, and the report claims that Tottenham have offered the 31-year-old a pay-as-you-play deal.
Spurs are short of strikers at the moment with Harry Kane out for a couple of months and Son Heung-min away on Asian Cup duty.
Rossi would make an interesting signing for us given his limited experience in the Premier League. The Italian played a few games for Newcastle United and Manchester United before his success at Villarreal.
The 31-year-old’s injury problems would be a concern for the side, but a pay-as-you-play deal works best for both parties.

The forward would not have a transfer fee attached too, and a short-term deal would be great for us. Son should return to Spurs in a couple of weeks, and hopefully, we won’t drop too many points during this time period.
