Calciomercato (h/t Express) claims Tottenham have joined Liverpool in the race to sign World Cup star Nabil Fekir.
The Frenchman has been in excellent form for Lyon this season and has helped them to the round of 16 in the Champions League.
The French giants face a tough tie against Barcelona and Fekir was close to joining Liverpool in the summer before the deal fell through (h/t Express). There were some concerns during the medical (h/t Express), and the Frenchman remained at Lyon this season.
The report adds that Harry Kane’s ankle injury has got Spurs active in the transfer window. The Englishman is ruled out till mid-March and Son Heung-min is away with South Korea on Asian Cup duty.
That leaves just Fernando Llorente as our recognised senior striker, but we also have Vincent Janssen on our books. The Spanish striker scored a hat-trick against Tranmere in the FA Cup, and he should be in line to start against Fulham at the weekend.
Fekir would make a wonderful addition to the side given his versatility to play across the front-line. The 25-year-old can also be a creative influence in midfield, and it will be interesting to see our plan of action in the remaining weeks of the transfer window.

Spurs didn’t sign any players in the summer but we need to bring someone in soon to keep the team in a decent position till Kane returns to action.
