West Ham United striker Andy Carroll has emerged as a shock option for Tottenham in January, according to the Sun.
Harry Kane is out till March while Son Heung-min is away on international duty in the Asian Cup. Dele Alli was the latest player to pick up an injury in the win over Fulham, leaving Fernando Llorente as the only senior striker at the club.
The report adds that Carroll is a free agent at the end of the season and could go for as little as £2million in the January window.
His transfer depends on the fate of Marko Arnautovic and if Manuel Pellegrini believes the former Liverpool forward is cover for the Austrian attacker.
Carroll is a beast when it comes to heading but his fitness is a major problem. The 30-year-old has only made two starts in the Premier League this season and made just seven starts in the league last time around.
The report adds that Tottenham would provide Carroll with an 18-month deal if he fits the bill. Callum Wilson is another striker that Spurs are interested in but his £40m-plus (h/t Sun) price-tag could mean the striker remains at Bournemouth in January.
Spurs could do with a forward that is more in-tune with our style of play and Carroll is not that player. The Englishman is similar to Fernando Llorente but the Spaniard struggled to impress against the Cottagers on Sunday.

Tottenham have some tough games coming up and it will be interesting to see if we dip into the transfer window after the latest injury to a first-teamer.
