Former Netherlands manager Dick Advocaat has slammed Tottenham over their treatment of Vincent Janssen.
The Dutch striker joined Spurs from AZ Alkmaar in 2016 but was shipped out on loan last season. The 24-year-old hasn’t featured for Spurs this season and isn’t part of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans.
Advocaat also managed in the Premier League with Sunderland, and claimed the Dutch striker was better than one forward at Spurs while speaking to VI.NL (h/t Express):
“Vincent has a lot more quality than Fernando Llorente.”
The former Dutch manager then claimed that the out-of-favour forward has to leave Tottenham quickly and that the Bundesliga could be a destination.
The former Black Cats manager then backed the mentality of Janssen by claiming that there was never anything wrong with the striker, and he was not upset easily.
Advocaat gave Janssen his vote of confidence claiming that the Dutch striker is a “complete striker”. The former Sunderland manager then blasted Spurs for signing the star and wanting to send him away just after one year.
“I really wonder why Tottenham bought him at the time.
“They paid a fortune for a new striker, barely give him a chance and want to get rid of him after a year. I do not get it.”
Janssen was given ample opportunities in his first season here, and it is a shame that the 24-year-old doesn’t seem to feature in our plans.

Harry Kane is out till March, but the Dutch striker is unlikely to play any games for us this season, and hopefully, he seals a move away in this window itself.
