Daniel Levy will use the Frenkie de Jong deal as a measure while negotiating with Real Madrid for Christian Eriksen, according to AS (h/t Express).
The Tottenham star is out of contract in 2020, and the report adds that Real Madrid are considering a bid for the Dane in the summer.
The report claims that Spurs are reluctant to sell the 26-year-old, with chairman Levy looking to make it tough for the Spanish side if they are to sign the play-maker.
De Jong moved to Barcelona from Ajax for a £74million fee, and it will be interesting to see how things develop when Madrid make a move for Eriksen. Mauricio Pochettino recently claimed that the Dane has the right to decide on his future.
The Dane has been one of the stars for Tottenham since moving from Ajax. Losing him would come as a huge blow to the team, who are still a work in progress.
Eriksen should get better with more games under his belt, and Tottenham will find it difficult to replace the creative midfield.
We need to keep the former Ajax star at all costs, and if he wants a bumper deal, it should be provided to him.

Spurs cannot lose top players and expect to develop into a quality team at the same time.
