Tottenham are ready to open their purse-strings with a move for Adrien Rabiot, however, the deal depends on another player leaving the Premier League, according to the Sun.
The report claims that Rabiot would be allowed to leave if Paris Saint-Germain can find a replacement. Everton’s Idrissa Gueye is a top target, as per the report. PSG are willing to let go of the French midfielder for £20million this month if they sign the Senegalese.
Rabiot is out of contract at the end of the season and will not sign a new deal. The report adds that Barcelona had made an offer to the Frenchman, however, no deal was finalised and the Catalans signed Frenkie De Jong recently.
The report adds that Mauricio Pochettino spoke with the French midfielder recently and wants to add options to his side.
Spurs sold Mousa Dembele in the winter window and could do with more steel in our midfield. Eric Dier has recently returned from injury while Victor Wanyama is struggling for match fitness.
Rabiot would make an excellent signing for Tottenham, and Pochettino could take the player to the next level.
The 23-year-old plays as a deep-lying midfielder, which should suit us. The deal seems to depend on PSG signing the Everton man, and hopefully, that deal takes place to help us get a quality star on the cheap.
