Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that Tottenham are working on a few deals after Mousa Dembele’s departure in this transfer window.
Spurs haven’t signed a player since Lucas Moura joined the club last January, however, Dembele’s exit has opened a slot in the team.
Pochettino claimed he was open to signing players, but Tottenham would only move if they find the right player (h/t Sky Sports):
“I always say I am more than open to add players to the squad. That is so clear. A different thing is if we can find the right player that is going to help us improve.
“We are working on a few options. We will see if we are able to deliver. We have one space now Mousa Dembele has gone.”
The Argentine also said that Spurs would not sign players to replace the injured stars, but will move only if the squad can be improved.
It will be interesting to see if we manage to sign a player in the winter window, given there are only a few days remaining for the deadline day.
Harry Kane and Dele Alli are out until March, but there was some good news for Spurs as Son Heung-min’s South Korea exited the Asian Cup. The South Korean should return soon, but it remains to be seen when he starts playing games.
Tottenham’s chances of winning the Carabao Cup went up in smoke as we lost to Chelsea in the semi-finals on penalties.
