Mauricio Pochettino has hinted that Tottenham’s stadium move has played a role in the club failing to win a silverware.
Spurs lost out in the Carabao Cup semi-final on penalties to Chelsea, while still competing in the Champions League and FA Cup, but with little hope of winning either of them.
The Argentine admitted that winning a trophy wasn’t easy, however, the stadium move hasn’t helped the cause as well (h/t Sky Sports):
“We are always close to the last step [to trophies] but to achieve it is the most difficult thing.
“At the moment, the team needed the last push, what happened? We build and build but then, White Hart Lane – gone.”
The manager highlighted that Spurs were unbeaten in their final season at White Hart Lane. He further added that moving to Wembley was always going to be unpredictable. The club initially predicted there for one season, however, as it stands, they could complete two seasons without moving to a new stadium.
The Argentine is right in saying that the stadium move cost Tottenham, as the initial period saw us struggle to get results.
Playing at your own ground is a different feeling when compared to Wembley, but Spurs should be used to the England national stadium by now.

We seem to falter in the high-pressure games. Hopefully, Pochettino can strengthen our mental fortitude to take us up a notch.
