Tottenham are looking to make a late move for Monaco midfielder Youri Tielemans, according to the Telegraph. The report claims that Leicester have been leading the chase to sign the 21-year-old on loan till the end of the season, however, Daniel Levy is ready to sanction a move for the Belgian if Mauricio Pochettino approves.

Tottenham’s midfield has been decimated by injuries this season, with Moussa Sissoko, Eric Dier and Christian Eriksen all spending time on the treatment table. Spurs even sold Mousa Dembele in the winter window, and that has created one slot in Pochettino’s side.

The report adds that the Ligue 1 club is willing to let go of Tielemans on loan or for a fee of £20million. Monaco are struggling this season and are in risk of getting relegated.

The Ligue 1 giants even sacked Thierry Henry after just a few months under the former Arsenal player. Tielemans has scored five goals from 20 league games this season, and we could do with someone like him joining the side.

The Belgian fits the bill when it comes to a typical Pochettino signing. Tielemans is young, isn’t extremely expensive, and has the potential to be one of the best in the world.

It is to be seen if we move for him quickly, with the transfer window ending on Thursday. Spurs haven’t signed any players since Lucas Moura last January and hopefully, we change that soon.
