Tottenham need to get back to winning ways after their domestic cup exits last week. Chelsea knocked us out of the Carabao Cup, and a much-changed Spurs side were defeated 2-0 by Crystal Palace in the FA Cup.
Mauricio Pochettino experimented with a back-three at Selhurst Park, but Spurs looked out of sorts. We reverted to a back-four in the second half, and the manager could play this formation against Watford in midweek. The Hornets already hold a win over us this season, and they will not be easy opposition for an injury-plagued Spurs side.
There is some good news for Spurs with Son Heung-min returning from national duty. He could be on the bench for this clash. We have a four-point cushion over Chelsea in the league standings and hopefully, we come out with a win on Wednesday.
Predicted Tottenham XI
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Manager: Mauricio Pochettino
Hugo Lloris (GK)
Lloris did not play in the losses against Palace and Chelsea, but the captain should return to the side on Wednesday.
Danny Rose (LB)
Rose was another player that didn’t start against Palace and should return to the team as the left-back.
Toby Alderweireld (CB)
Alderweireld has been our most consistent defender this season and the Belgian should start for us on Wednesday.
Jan Vertonghen (CB)
The other Belgian defender in the side, Vertonghen is slowly getting back to his best and Tottenham need him to have a great game.
Kieran Trippier (RB)
The Englishman has struggled since the start of the season, but Spurs should relent with him starting ahead of Serge Aurier.
Harry Winks (CM)
The Englishman has to be at his best against a physical Watford team, and his passing will be important too.
Eric Dier (CM)
Moussa Sissoko has a minor knock, however, we should not risk the Frenchman and instead, start with Dier on Wednesday.
Christian Eriksen (CAM)
The Dane has been a little inconsistent but needs to play well if we are to get three points against Watford.
Lucas Moura (RAM)
The Brazilian didn’t have a great game against Palace and needs to do well against the Hornets.
Erik Lamela (LAM)
Another player who needs to step up against the Hornets, Lamela has to take up the task of breaking down the Watford defence.

Fernando Llorente (ST)
Tottenham should stick with Llorente at the top as he provides us with a presence. Spurs have to mould their game around the Spaniard, who is great in the air.
